The Old Warehouse, Kingsbridge, Devon
If you're on your large group holidays in Devon and you're looking for somewhere for eats in Kingsbridge, go to The Old Warehouse, locally owned, tucked away but close to the high street and the quay. What they have here is a Taproom, Kitchen and Café serving local food and drink from a seasonal menu, just the way it should be. The vibe is laidback and colourful, interiors have a distinct ‘craft’ feel and the crew who work here are a very friendly bunch.
The Café serves locally roasted coffee, teas, fruit juices, cakes and bakes, the Kitchen has more substantial offerings like Beefburger, Panko mushroom burger, Frank’s locally made hot dogs, King Bee battered fish with chips, pea puree and tartare sauce, Fish chowder, Pork belly with roasted veg, crackling, cavolo nero, mash and gravy, and Black lentil stew. At lunchtimes you can opt for something lighter like a bowl of soup, a sandwich or a salad, and there’s a kids menu if they don’t want the grown-up food. Vegetarian and vegan options are always available and some dishes can be adopted to be gluten free or dairy free.
The Taproom has a range of local beers, cider, gin and wine – and their own Moonhoney Mead which is brewed onsite in the stainless steel stills you can see behind the bar.
For the warmer days there’s a beer garden, when it’s not so warm there are tables and velvety sofas inside. If you’re feeling lively, go along to one of the live music or film nights.
