The Rock Inn, Waterrow, Somerset
If you happen to be staying near Waterrow on your large group holiday in Somerset, potter down to The Rock Inn, right in the middle of the village, by the bridge where the River Tone rushes by. The wooded backdrop sets off this 450 year old pub and makes it such a pleasing scene, half-timbered outside, with a garden terrace for when the sun is shining, and indoors, oak beamed ceilings, wooden floors and inglenook fireplaces
All that charm combined with an exciting modern menu of world flavours seems to hit the mark, so go along, have lunch or dinner there, or stroll down one morning for breakfast. The menu offers variety, so you should find something to tempt your tastebuds – burgers (Classic beefburger, Grilled vegetable burger, Miso grilled salmon burger), curries (Monkfish & tiger prawns, Ceylon lamb, Black chicken), salads (Prawn & avocado, Halloumi, Calamari), and mains like Seafood risotto, Cumberland sausages and mash, and Roasted sea bass fillet with beluga lentils, leeks and saffron lobster bisque. All dishes are made using the freshest seasonal ingredients, sourced as locally as possible, supporting the many small suppliers who live and work in this area.
The Rock Inn is part of the 3 Flavours Kitchen group, brought to Waterrow by world-renowned chef Chanaka Fernando, who has worked for Buddha Bar in London and with celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsey and Marcis Wareing.
