Trent Bridge, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

It’s hard to think that Trent Bridge was once just a quaint little meadow at the back of a country pub across the River Trent from Nottingham. It became a cricket field in 1838 and has grown to become one of England’s biggest and most well-known grounds, and among the best cricketing venues in the world.

Trent Bridge is of course, home to Nottinghamshire CCC, so if you’re a fan of the game you might want to check the fixtures to see if your large group stay near Nottingham coincides with a match. You can take your own food but there’s plenty available on site; hot and cold food is served at the Cricketer’s Suite, and other refreshments are available around the grounds on match days.

You can also book a guided tour where you’ll be shown around behind the scenes and get to hear about some of the club’s famous matches and players. Weather and pitch conditions permitting, you can take a stroll on the turf. Now that’s something to tell your friends about.
