Usk Rural Life Museum , Usk, Monmouthshire
A centuries old malt barn in Usk is home for this museum of over 5,000 exhibits that showcase the lives of the people who lived in these Welsh borders from Victorian times. There are some interesting collections including a Victorian cottage, a forge, a hardware shop and a cheesemaker. If you fancy trying your hand at hand milking a cow, you need to find Bessie in the dairy timeline; the youngsters tend to be fascinated!
The museum is open from April to October from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm Tuesday to Saturday and 11.00 am to 3.00 pm on Sundays, but is closed on Mondays.
