Whitehaven - Accommodation
Let Whitehaven be your home for however long you’re here; relaxing comes easy at this luxury large group holiday house because it’s so well equipped and has something for all ages.
The main entrance takes you into the bright and airy dining room where centre place is a big chunky table to seat you all for happy holiday dinners and celebration feasts. The outlook is of the garden at the front of the house; if it’s sunny, open the doors and step out onto the patio for canapes and cocktails.
The dining room is open-plan to the kitchen, designed to take the stress out of catering for a large group. It has everything you need and a large central island means that no one is left out of the fun – this is one big sociable space where all you can gather together. Off the kitchen there’s a utility room with laundry facilities and right next to it, a small games room with table football.
Next to the dining room is the main games room where there’s a pool table, perfect for a round of 8-ball before dinner. To the left is the living room where you can put your feet up on the big fat leather sofas; what’s nice is to come back rosy cheeked from a winters walk in the woods and light the wood-burner. Snuggle round with trays of toast oozy with butter, settle down for a family movie night with big bowls of popcorn to share.
Straight ahead of the games room there’s a snug, the perfect spot to grab some downtime with a book or magazine, or to sit and quietly chat. Next to this is Bedroom 6 with zip and link beds that can be arranged as a super king or twins; there’s an ensuite shower room and French doors that open onto the garden – pop out for a nightcap beneath the stars or for morning coffee in the sunshine.
Upstairs are Bedrooms 1-5, all finished in soothing neutral tones with complementary accents of colour in the soft furnishings; it creates a very restful feel which goes a long way to a good night’s sleep, especially on top of all that fresh country air. Bedroom 1 is the largest room and has a king size bed and an ensuite shower room; Bedrooms 2 and 3 both have zip and link beds (super king or twin) and shared use of a Jack and Jill bathroom that has a bath with an overhead shower. Bedrooms 4 and 5 also have zip and link beds and ensuite shower rooms.
The indoor pool is in a separate building just a few steps from the house and has huge bi-fold doors that you can pull right back when the sun is out to play; let outdoors and indoors merge seamlessly to add to that big happy holiday vibe. Fire up the barbecue, let the chefs get the sausages sizzling, get in the pool and splash about with the kids – fun, fun, fun!
The views from the garden are amazing, stretching out across the hills and fields for miles; that and the birdsong from the woods at the edge of the garden make a fantastic backdrop when you’re out there playing on the lawns or sat in the dining pavilion with a glass of wine. It’s not unusual to see deer feeding in the fields, though they may be put off by the shrieks of delight from the young ‘uns larking about in the play area! Dream days all round, make it happen.
