Wild Rocket, Bridgwater, Somerset
Wild Rocket is a restaurant and cocktail bar in the middle of Bridgwater that serves tapas and British cuisine, with a few world flavours for good measure. By all accounts the food is very good; they like their ingredients to be fresh, natural and as far as possible, sourced locally. We have to say, it looks delicious and very colourful – you know that thing they say about eating a rainbow?
So, Wild Rocket gets things going with cooked brekky every morning – the full English, with vegetarian and vegan alternatives offered, as well as more upmarket dishes like Eggs Benedict, Eggs Royale and Scrambled egg with smoked salmon; if you prefer a simple breakfast, fine, you can have toast here, with whatever you like on it. If you have a sweet tooth you’ll like the American pancake stacks.
Lunchtimes you can have a sandwich or a baked potato, or you can choose something from the mains; they have a good mix, things like Traditional fish & chips, Crispy belly pork, Pan fried sea bass fillet, Risotto of the day, Homemade burgers, and Halloumi salad, so there ought to be something for all tastes, but if not, they’ll tailor your lunch to suit you. Evenings it’s pretty much the same, only without the sandwiches and jackets.
Incidentally, Wild Rocket is owned by the same family who own Green Olive, a Mezze Restaurant, Grill and Bar in town, and they’re nice people; everyone is warmly greeted and the atmosphere is a happy one. Give it a try, see what you think.
