Willows and Wetland Centre, Stoke St Gregory, Somerset
Willow has been grown on the Somerset Levels for generations and here at the Willows and Wetlands Visitor centre you can find out all about it. There are displays, a museum and an interactive exhibition setting out the relationship between this traditional industry and the unique landscape where the willow is grown and worked. Buy a hand woven basket from the shop, stop for a cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake at the Lemon Tree Coffee House, have a stroll around the marked Willow & Wetlands Walks; see local crafts and photographs in the galleries, take a guided tour (Mon-Fri 11.00am-2.30pm). What gets you most is the sheer tranquility; it's a lovely way to spend a few hours.
