People come here to go walk the waymarked trails, for cycling, horseriding, Nordic walking, and a great family activity if you've got younger children, a Gruffalo Sculpture Trail. There are picnic areas, a cafe, a play area and bike hire, and if you've a head for heights or want to overcome your fear of them, there's Go Ape Wyre Forest with its treetop challenges. The scenery is wonderful anytime of year with sun dappled woodlands in the summer and spectacular colours in the autumn; even in the depths of winter it's well worth wrapping up warm for a stroll. look up, look down, look all around because any such environment is a world of discovery - look out for birdlife, see squirrels scampering about and look among the leaf litter and fallen branches to uncover all kinds of creepy crawlies. You'll go home rosy cheeked, feeling good about life and happy to be here.
