The ambience is relaxed, with casual dining and the tastiest authentic Greek food from a family who learned their culinary prowess from huge summer holiday lunches with aunts and uncles, grandparents and cousins. That big sharing ethos is carried through at Yamas as they love to see everyone tucking in and coming together to enjoy good food and good times.
The backdrop is one of modern interiors with a stripped wood floor and dark wood panelling, and most important, a big happy atmosphere. The menu is a celebration of Greek cuisine and has plenty to choose from – tapas, mezze, mezedes, sharing patters, salads, seafood, meat dishes, BBQ meats straight from the grill, and vegetarian options. Included are the likes of Saltimbocca (pork tenderloin wrapped with prosciutto and sage), Kleftico (slow cooked lamb with herbs and lemon juice), Krithartoto (orzo pasta in a roasted pepper, tomato, pine nut, cheese and garlic sauce) and Lavraki (sea bass fillet with alioli).
Go for dinner Wednesday to Saturday, or for a weekend lunch. Easy to find, being right in the city centre.
