Best Autumn Midweek Breaks For Groups

Well, what a summer that was - as usual, it’s whizzed by far too quickly! The schools have gone back now, the holiday traffic has cleared and the days are cooler – but the sun is still shining and attractions are still open, so as we step into September we’re taking a look at the best autumn midweek breaks for groups. Autumn is a great time of year for a getaway with friends and family and the advantages are that if you go midweek it’s quieter and it’s cheaper than at weekends.

Our large and luxurious holiday houses offer some of the best autumn midweek breaks for groups in the UK, with fantastic locations in Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, East Sussex, Surrey and Nottinghamshire. With fantastic features like indoor private pools, hot tubs, saunas, games rooms, movie rooms, BBQ lodges and play areas, there’s something to keep all ages smiling.

Things have changed considerably in the last few years and now with more people working from home it’s easier to take a midweek break. Just pack the laptop and you’ll find quiet areas in our holiday houses that can be utilised as work space; the wifi is usually very reliable and the setting is inspiring, so it’s easy to stay in touch with the office, to join remote meetings and to keep focussed.

Midweek autumn breaks aren’t a problem if you’ve got school age children, or if you’re home schooling – just take along what you need, set up your ‘classroom’ and enjoy lessons in your holiday home. When work is done, you can enjoy a splash in the pool, a soak in the hot tub, head for the games room to play pool, table tennis, air hockey or table football, or plan a cosy movie night. The beauty of our large group accommodation is that you don’t need to worry about what the weather’s doing because there’s so much indoors to keep you happy!

We’re lucky in the UK to have some glorious autumn weather – those Indian summers, the beautiful morning mists followed by sunshine, but it’s not muggy and close like it’s been this summer, it’s much more pleasant. Perfect for getting out and about to see something of the local area, to visit historic houses with gorgeous gardens, and even for days on the beach.

If you like walking, autumn is hard to beat; pull on your boots and stride out across the fields, following footpaths and trails that take you deep into spectacular countryside. All those breathtaking colours, the golds and the reds and the yellows, the leaves gently swirling down, crisp beneath your feet. Go blackberry picking, gather chestnuts and hazel nuts, if you absolutely, 100% know what you’re doing, go foraging for fungi. If you take a mid-week autumn break later in the year there’s something very special about wrapping up in warm coats, and hats and scarves for the first time in months.

There are so many reasons to enjoy the best autumn midweek breaks for groups – maybe there’s a special birthday or anniversary to be celebrated, to be enjoyed with the people you love most in the world. You might want to catch an event, like Tar Barrels in Ottery St Mary, Bridgwater Carnival, Nottingham Goose Fair or the Festival of Light at Longleat. It might just be that autumn is your favourite time of year and the idea of spending a few days away in a luxury large group holiday house with your nearest and dearest is very appealing. Whatever your reason, wherever you go, there are good times waiting and extra special memories to be made. Check out our availability for midweek autumn breaks and book your stay today!
