Beaulieu Abbey, Beaulieu, New Forest, Hampshire
If you're visiting the many attractions at Beaulieu on your large group holiday in then UK, this is one for those with a passion for history. 800 year old Beaulieu Abbey is another one that fell to King ‘Enery’s orders, though at least what’s left of it has been well conserved so you can go and see the ruins and just soak up the utter tranquillity. It’s not difficult to imagine how immense the abbey was and how the monks lived here, but you can find out in detail in the Monastic Life Exhibition. See the aromatic herb garden that they once used for cooking and medicinal purposes, and in the Abbot’s Mews Exhibition you can discover the history of falconry on the Beaulieu Estate.
