Beaulieu, New Forest, Hampshire

Head to Beaulieu for a jolly good day out when you’re on your large group holiday in the New Forest; it’s a charming village at the head of the tidal Beaulieu River and apart from the obvious visit to the attractions on the Beaulieu Estate, like the National Motor Museum and Beaulieu Abbey, there are some lovely riverside walks that take you through tranquil countryside and woodland glades. Take a stroll to Bucklers Hard, where there’s a Maritime Museum, or to Hatchet Pond where you can spread a rug and enjoy a leisurely picnic. Take a boat trip along the peaceful waters, come back and head for one of the excellent places to eat in the village, like the Montagu Arms Hotel or Monty’s Inn.
