Bulkington, Devizes, Wiltshire

Bulkington is a quiet village on the edge of Salisbury Plain not far from Devizes; it’s one of those places where life slows down, which is nice in this day and age when there’s so much bad stuff going on in the world and everyone’s caught up in the hectic pace of modern life. Here there are all the traditions of country life – a war memorial on the village green, a tubby little church, some charming old houses, and a very good village pub and restaurant, The Well.

There are good walks starting from the village and with  most of them being shortish circulars, it would only make sense to go to The Well when you get back.
