Dawlish, Devon

Head to Dawlish on the South Devon coast for some good old fashioned bucket and spade fun; this is a great one for traditional seaside escapades, if you don't mind the crowds in the peak summer season. Get yourselves down on the sandy beach and build sandcastles or explore the rock pools; take a stroll around the town and you’ll find some cute little shops and places to eat, or go and chill on the Lawn and watch the black swans on the brook - one of the things that Dawlish is famous for. Peckish? Forest Fungi/The Farm Shop has a good reputation for its homegrown mushroom dishes and the Smugglers Inn on the seafront certainly pulls the crowds with its Farmers Feast Carvery.

NB: One beach zone has no dog restrictions
