The Smugglers Inn, Dawlish, Devon
The Smugglers Inn is on the Teignmouth Road in the South Devon seaside town of Dawlish; it ticks a lot of boxes in that the atmosphere is relaxed, it’s family friendly and the food they serve is homemade using fresh local produce. Add to that the fantastic views of coast and country and it’s no surprise that it’s a popular place.
What The Smugglers Inn is known for is the Farmers Feast Carvery that they serve every day, with meat from a butcher in Shaldon just a few miles away. Apart from that, the food is pub favourites, with the likes of Halloumi burger and Sweet potato coconut curry for the veggies. It’s a great chance to try the local beers of course - Teignmouth Reel Ale and Dartmoor Legend ought to go down very well.
Sit inside where there’s a modern nautical theme and big windows make it all light and airy, or grab a table out on the terrace where you can enjoy the sea views.
