East Prawle, Kingsbridge, Devon
East Prawle is a remote village on Devon’s most southerly outcrop, just half a mile from the coast, which here, is rocky and untamed; it feels wild and slightly rugged in these parts but at the same time, it’s so utterly peaceful and with the backdrop of the softly rolling countryside, the village has a very unique beauty.
This particular area is affectionately known to locals to as ‘pig country’ because there are so many working farms and agriculture is an enormous part of local life. East Prawle has so much charm and a happy community, with a shop and café, and a very good pub, the Pigs Nose Inn that stands at the edge of the village green. It’s a great place for walks, the most popular being from the village to Prawle Point taking in green lanes and the South West Coast Path.
