Goodrich Castle, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire

Dating back to medieval times, Goodrich Castle near Ross-on-Wye stood for cneturies before spending two months under siege then finally falling in 1646. Standing high above the River Wye there are breath taking views across the landscape, especially from up on the battlements.
