Gosport, Hampshire
On a peninsula just across the harbour from Portsmouth, Gosport is practically buzzing with things to do – there’s history and heritage, family attractions, beaches, watersports, and good walks, so amongst that little lot there should be something for everyone.
Gosport certainly has its fair share of museums - the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, The Diving Museum and for a real taste of days of yore, the 1642 Living History Village. If you prefer a faster pace head over to Team Sport Karting, have a whirl on the rink at Planet Ice, get down to the waterfront for boat and yacht hire and fishing trips, or book up with Prime Paddling for kayaking, paddleboarding and canoeing. In the summer months you can take a leisurely trip to the River Hamble or the Beaulieu River with Gosport Ferry and Cruises, cream tea on board included. What’s nice is to set aside a few hours for a stroll; the Waterfront Trail takes you past the marinas and has the most awesome views over to Portsmouth; the Alver Valley and The Wild Grounds Nature Reserve will appeal to nature lovers.
