Wellington, Somerset

This friendly town set between the Blackdown Hills and the Brendon Hills gave its name to the famous Iron Duke; in fact just outside of the town is a monument which stands in his honour. Wellington is a pleasant place to spend a few hours browsing the smaller specialist shops by day, or catching the latest movie at the art deco style Wellesley cinema in the evening. The town has recently gained a good reputation for food, promoting the best of local produce at the regular Farmer's Market; if you want to go and sit down for some food try Odetteā€™s Tea Room, with its pretty garden, or The Vintage Inn for traditional pub grub.
