Perry's Cider, Dowlish Wake, Somerset
If you're looking for things to do when you're on your Sleeps12 holiday in Somerset you couldn't do wrong to take a little outing to Perry's Cider in the peaceful village of Dowlish Wake, just a mile or so from Ilminster. The Perry family have been making cider there for generations, and still produce award winning brew on their farm. The business has grown over the years and if you go there you can see all the old cider making equipment in the museum and if you go to the farm shop you can sample the golden nectar before deciding which one to buy - whilst you're there you might well be tempted to grab a basket and fill it with local goodies and gifts to take home.
It's all very lovely and really rather idyllic, a world away from the push and shove, especially when the apple blossom is out in the orchard in the spring time; sit out there with something nice from the tea room and soak up the gentle rustic ambience.
