Ranmore Common, Dorking, Surrey
Ranmore Common is on the North Downs Way National Walking Trail AND it’s within the Surrey Hills AONB so you know you can be sure of spectacular scenery. There are several waymarked footpaths and bridleways to explore and there’s a nice walk here from Dorking through Denbies Wine Estate. Within the common are extensive beech and oak woodlands where you can be like one of those families you see in magazines, happily kicking up the leaves in autumn, wrapped in your hats and scarves and big warm coats. The open downland is glorious in the summer months, with a blanket of gorgeous pink heather; take a picnic and enjoy the breeze in your hair and the sun on your face. Inspiring.
