Red Spider Climbing, Fareham, Hampshire
Red Spider Climbing at Fareham is what they call a ‘bouldering’ centre – in other words it’s low level rock climbing that doesn’t use ropes but does involve plenty of power and a good technique. It’s usually done on boulders or smaller rock outcrops but here they have a state-of-the-art indoor centre, which of course means you can come and play regardless of what the weather is up to. The atmosphere at Red Spider is very upbeat and you can have a lot of fun here, so even if it’s something you’ve never done before, don’t be afraid to give it a go. Seasoned pros will love it, especially as the problems are set by some of the best route setters in the bouldering industry.
There’s a castle and a pirate ship to play on for the young ‘uns, and a café serving tasty food.
