Shropshire
It’s worth a day trip to Shropshire when you’re on your large group holiday at Pitmaston House as it’s the next county and it won’t take you long to get there. The countryside is glorious, from the beautiful Shropshire Hills made famous by Housman’s poetry, to the tranquil canals, and there are plenty of interesting places to visit, whether it’s the county town of Shrewsbury, the foodie’s heaven of Ludlow, or Black and White Ledbury.
Families can have some good days out visiting Blists Hill Victorian Town, Onny Meadows Country Park, or Bridgnorth Cliff Railway; you can have adventures at Shropshire Raft Tours or Severn Valley Quad Trekking. Get out and see the scenery on horseback with Country Treks Equestrian Centre, and if you like historic houses and gorgeous gardens go to Wenlock Priory, Stokesay Castle or Clun Castle.
