Shropshire Hills, Shropshire
It’s no surprise that the Shropshire Hills are a designated area of outstanding natural beauty; the rolling scenery of hills, farmland, woods and river valleys is spectacular with wide open views that will take your breath away. You can go hiking across the heather clad heaths, or cycling on forest trails; see it all on horseback, or potter about spotting wildlife. Take in the beauty of The Wrekin, Wenlock Edge and the Long Mynd; visit some historic buildings – Stokesay Castle, Wenlock Priory or Clun Castle. You’ll find plenty of market towns where you can mooch about the streets and find a good café or pub for a bite to eat, but if the weather is good the best thing to do is to take a picnic and find a tranquil spot for lunch beneath the wide open sky and clear fresh air.
