Southleigh, Devon
The village of Southleigh is tucked away in the hills of East Devon, not far from Colyton and Beer on the Jurassic Coast. Not a lot goes on here, which is a huge part of its charm; people quietly live here, being content in these beautiful surroundings, and who can blame them? If you’re staying at Hill View up the road, a nice way to pass a summer evening is to have a stroll around; there are some very pretty cottages and a quite fascinating 13th century church with a backdrop of wooded slopes. It’s just all so lovely, you know, like something out of a Thomas Hardy book, albeit in Devon and not Dorset.
