Southwick Country Park, Southwick, Trowbridge, Wiltshire
At Southwick Country Park in Wiltshire you’ll find 100 acres of fields and meadows linked by paths, including a gravelled trail for wheelchair users. People come here to walk and to watch the wildlife so keep quiet and you might see deer feeding and rabbits hopping about, and in the waters you can look out for tadpoles, frogs and water voles. There’s a strong possibility you’ll hear woodpeckers at work and the cry of a buzzard soaring in the sky. Just go for the peace and quiet, go to enjoy the beauty of the natural world and the feeling of being outside with the sun on your face and the breeze in your hair; it’s hard to beat.
Within the park is Hope Nature Centre which the kids will love, so take them to see the horses, goats, alpacas, rabbits and chickens, then treat them to a cake in Squirrels tea room.
