Taurus Crafts, Lydney, Gloucestershire
A different kind of shopping experience on the outskirts of Lydney, with several little shops and workshops set around a 17th century courtyard, with all sorts of things for sell – fashions and homewares, glassware, jewellery, toy, stationery, artisan foods; there’s a huge focus on art and craft traditions with most products being local, fair trade and environmentally sustainable. There are regular workshops and events and there’s a café that’s open for food and drinks throughout the day.
Taurus Crafts is run by Camphill Village Trust, a social care charity that very actively supports adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems; every little bit helps and it’s always good to know that you’re supporting a very worthwhile cause.
