The Culm Valley Inn, Culmstock, Devon
This is a bit of a Culm Valley secret, tucked away in the village of Culmstock in the Blackdown Hills of Devon; the style is eclectic and the setting quite lovely. They have regular live music and round the back there’s an antique shop. The menu is varied and uses locally sourced ingredients with things like Wild Boar Scotch Eggs, and Duck Liver & Truffle Parfait on the starters. On the mains there’s a Prawn and Mussel Curry, Local Loin of Pork with Buttered New Potatoes & Apple Salad, and their own Culm Valley Burger. Give it a try; it’s good.
