The George Hotel, Bridport, Dorset
Right in the middle of Bridport, The George is cosy and casual with a rustic meets contemporary interior; it’s all a little bit mixed up, a little bit eclectic, but it works and the ambience is entirely relaxed.
The main bar can get busy, but there’s a snug and a restaurant as well as a private dining room for up to 16 people. The food is scrumptious pub dining with Levantine Lamb, Vegetarian Moussaka, Liver & Bacon, and Traditional Fish & Chips plucked from the mains menu. Tuesday night is Pasta Night, Wednesday is Burger Night, and they hold regular events like Games Nights, and Spanish Guitar & Tapas evenings. Everyone is welcome; it’s family friendly and dog friendly, so go and browse the market stalls along South Street, or visit the Vintage Quarter, and then come here for lunch or a pint of the local ale.
