The Harbour Inn, Lyme Regis, Dorset
The Harbour Inn is a family run pub and restaurant snucked nicely between the narrower end of Marine Parade and the beach at Lyme Regis. It’s a popular spot because not only do they have a balcony that overlooks the harbour and has views far out to sea, they also have their own private beach area even closer to the shore.
Inside the atmos is relaxed and when it’s quieter, it’s actually quite cosy. Families are welcome and they even do a menu especially for the younger folk; well behaved dogs are welcome too but there’s no menu for them! Food is home cooked using seasonal local ingredients which, being down by the sea on the Jurassic Coast means, yep, a lot of fish. On the menu are temptations like their own Fish Pie, Pan roasted fillet of Lyme Bay hake, Bouillabaisse, and Slow roasted pork belly; at lunchtimes there are sandwiches and baguettes to choose from with Rare beef and horseradish and Local hand picked crab among the fillings.
