The Old House, Dorking, Surrey
Go to The Old House in Dorking for a drink or a bite to eat and we don’t think you’ll be disappointed; once 4 cottages dating back in part to the 14th century, the homely ambience and quirky old character have been retained, blending seamlessly with trendy vintage style interiors and lots of interesting knick-knacks. The fare is hearty home cooked using the freshest seasonal ingredients the team can get their hands on from local suppliers; pub classics, British favourites with a bit of a continental twist, and daily specials. The bar menu has sharing dishes like Oven baked Camembert, Nachos and a Cold bar snack platter, there are open sandwiches on toasted focaccia, and on Sundays they do a corker of a Sunday roast.
On summer afternoons they have live music in the beer garden, which makes for a happy and lively atmosphere. Dogs are welcome.
