The Pantry, Winscombe, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset

If you find yourself in need of sustenance after puffing your way up to the top of Crook Peak and back, go to The Pantry in Winscombe. This is such a sweet little café, and the cakes and coffee they serve are very good; the coffee is local, the cakes are either made here in the kitchen or are bought in from a bakery close by.

If you’re organised, you can book for lunch or a Sunday roast to round off your walk, or an afternoon tea – what a thought to keep your best foot forward on the way back down from the hill! Thinking about that homemade quiche, dainty little sandwiches, cakes, and scones with lashings of jam and cream… washed down with a pot of tea, served on the prettiest china.

Look out for themed Bistro nights at The Pantry too. They are very popular so you’ll need to book quickly.

Dogs welcome.
