Wells, Somerset
England’s smallest city, Wells is a lovely town to visit, especially on Wednesdays and Saturdays when the Market Place is a bustle with people, and packed with stalls selling local produce and crafts. With its world famous cathedral, Bishop’s Palace and Gardens, and Vicar’s Close, you could easily spend a day here mooching about and taking in the sights. The streets are lined with some quirky little cottages and a variety of shops and eateries; try The Fountain Inn, Liberty Café Bar, and the City Arms and Restaurant.
