A La Ronde is a 16 sided house in Exmouth that's owned by the National Trust; it was and built by two eccentric sisters in the 18th century, following a tour of Europe. It's both fascinating and magical; a room with 8 doors leading off it, diamond shaped windows, walls decorated with feathers, pictures made from sand and seaweed, and the most incredible gallery encrusted with shells. There are gardens with views across the Exe estuary, a wildlfower meadow, orchard and tea shop. Delightful.
