Just a few miles away in Tiverton you can spend a few hours walking or cycling along the towpath of the Grand Western Canal, or take a leisurely trip on a horse drawn barge followed by cream tea at The Canal Tea Rooms & Garden. Spend a day discovering the vibrant city of Exeter, just a 20 minute drive away; see the fascinating collections at the RAM Museum, go see the glorious Gothic cathedral or have a tour of the medieval Underground Passages. Down at the quay you can scale dizzy heights at Clip n Climb or hire kayaks from Saddles and Paddles and wend your way along the calm waters of the Exe estuary to The Turf for lunch in the waterside garden.
If you like history and gorgeous gardens, check out Kia-ora Farm and Gardens, or Killerton and Knightshayes (both NT), with activities, and acres of parkland to stroll in. Take the kids for an exciting day out at Crealy Theme Park & Resort, Wildwood Escot, or spend the day on the beach at Exmouth.
