You are going to love La Belle Folly, we promise you. Whether you stay here for a family holiday, days away with your best buddies, a celebration with your nearest and dearest, a fun-filled hen weekend, or an impressive corporate break, it’s an experience you won’t forget. This very creative conversion of a barn and grain tower on a historic farm is a unique and quirky blend of the rustic and the modern. 9 ensuite bedrooms sleep 23 (7 in the house and 2 in the tower), there’s a games room with a pool table and arcade machine, possibly the biggest shuffleboard you’ve ever seen, and outside, a stainless steel hot tub and a heated pool with glass ends.
Check out the views from the full height glass walls and you’ll be astonished. What a vista to wake up to, stretching way out over runway and the Wiltshire countryside; watch deer feeding and pheasants strutting about in the fields. Go and explore the private grounds where alpacas, goats and pigs happily graze, wander back to the wonderland of La Belle Folly to idle the days away.
Don’t kid yourselves that you’ll be busy every day, out discovering what’s good and great in the local area; there’s every chance it might not happen because you’ll be happy as larks right here. Then and again, who can resist a trip to Bath to see the sights of this beautiful city? The Roman Baths, The Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge – they should all be on your ‘to do’ list. Beef it up with paddleboarding down the river Avon with Original Wild, dress to the nines to cheer on the nags at Bath Racecourse, large it Regency style at The Jane Austen Centre.
And Longleat. What a day out, and it’s only 5 miles down the road! Hear those famous lions roar for real, see cheetahs, tigers, giraffes and zebra on the drive-through safari, get a close-up view of the mischievous monkeys. If there’s time take a guided tour of the mansion house, a Jungle Cruise on the lake, passing the Gorilla Colony, or lose yourselves for a while in the maze.
Oh, and Bradford on Avon, that’s a lovely place. There are independent shops to browse, several good restaurants and pubs, boat hire and narrowboat trips on the Kennet & Avon Canal, or if you fancy stretching your legs, walks along the towpath.
Climb in the car for a pootle about, see if you can find all 8 of Wiltshire’s White Horses, puff up to the top of Cley Hill for staggering views and a good-old fashioned picnic (lashings of lemonade essential). Amble around the lakes at Stourhead, walk the cloisters at Lacock Abbey, love the buzz of the Frome Independent Market, when the main street is packed full of artisan stalls, with street food and live music.
Go out, stay in, or a bit of both, it’s up to you. Either way, loving every minute of your stay is compulsory. Just think of the memories. Book today!
