The House
Step into the hallway and turn left, into the enormous open plan living/dining room; see how lovely this luxury large group holiday house is, how the light pours in through the floor to ceiling windows; open them wide on warmer days, let indoors-outdoors merge. The big table sets the scene for happy celebration feasts, at one end of the room there’s a pool table, at the other are sofas, a big TV and a wood-burner.
To the right of the hall is the kitchen, Shaker style, equipped to make catering for your large group easy. Bedrooms 1 and 2 are this end of the house too, both with ensuite facilities.
Upstairs there’s a mezzanine landing with table football and a sofa bed for 1 extra guest (extra charge -see Extras). To the left are Bedrooms 3 and 4, both with ensuite bathrooms; Bedroom 4 sleeps 4 so it makes a great family room or a dorm for older children. Bedroom 5 is right of the mezzanine and also has an ensuite bathroom.
And then there’s the icing on the cake, just across the patio - the indoor pool; all yours come rain or shine, which is why Thorncombe is such a great place to stay for holidays and short breaks all year round. If it’s raining, who cares – you’ve got your own private pool! When the sun’s playing ball, open the doors, let the sunshine roll on in to add to the holiday vibe. Get the steaks sizzling on the barbecue and spend the afternoon relaxing outdoors; there’s table tennis for all, a trampoline and play area for the kids.
