Lynton, Devon

Set amidst the gorgeous scenery of the Exmoor coast, Lynton is affectionately known as ‘Little Switzerland’ – due to its setting high up on the clifftop above the pretty harbour village of Lynmouth. The two are connected by the Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway and by steep pedestrian paths. The town has a rather lovely church, a museum, several shops, hotels and tea shops, and some quaint houses. To stroll through the streets on a bright day is a pleasure – whilst you’re here don’t miss a short stroll to the spectacular Valley of Rocks or to the beautiful Watersmeet gorge.
