The Pymore Inn, Bridport, Dorset
Snuggled away amidst the fields and hills of West Dorset, The Pymore Inn is a lovely little pub to go to for a drink or a bite to eat any time of year. In the winter you’ll find blazing log fires, in the summer you can sit in the walled garden and watch the butterflies flitting about on the flowers; it’s all so utterly charming.
The bar is very cosy and welcoming, with lots of interesting bits and pieces to look at – the sort of place where you could quite happily hanker down for an afternoon or a with a long evening stretched ahead of you, drinks around the table with friends, good food to tuck into. Talking of which, the food – it’s all homemade of course, using local ingredients and on the mains you’ll find the likes of Lyme Bay Sea Bream, Casserole of the Day, Butternut & Blue Cheese Risotto, Slow-roasted pork belly, and Pymore Inn fish & chips. In the summer months they do handmade pizzas fresh from the authentic Italian pizza oven in the garden where there’s also a bar and a fire pit.
The Pymore Inn was originally built, back in the 1750’s as a gentleman’s residence, but for over 200 years it’s been a pub, which proves that some things are meant to be.
