The Ship Inn, Uphill, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset
The Ship Inn is the oldest pub in Weston-Super-Mare – officially in the village of Uphill on the outskirts of town – known locally as ‘the quiet end’. It’s family friendly and dog friendly with an open plan bar and restaurant, and it still very much retains its country pub charm, with thick stone walls, ceiling beams and old pictures on the walls.
There’s plenty to keep everyone amused, by way of a pool table, board games, dart board, juke box and skittle alley, hot and cold drinks are served all day and you can tuck into hearty food that’s freshly cooked for lunch and dinner. Choose from pub favourites like Breaded scampi, Homemade steak & ale pie, and Freshly battered cod & chips, or burgers, pizzas, jacket potatoes and steaks. On Sundays they serve a cracking Sunday roast.
The Ship Inn at Uphill is the kind of place that’s good for after a stroll along Uphill Beach, somewhere to hunker down by the fire when it’s wild and windy outside. There’s seating at the front and back of the pub, with heat lamps for when the sun’s gone down.
