The ground floor of the larger barn has a living room, kitchen, utility, WC and Bedrooms 1-4; the living room opens onto a big balcony with outdoor seating and unspoilt views over the valley, wonderful for the morning and evening sun and for warmer days. Upstairs, accessed by two bespoke spiral staircases are Bedrooms 5-9 – all bedrooms at Brix Barn have ensuite bathrooms or shower rooms. Downstairs there’s an enormous open plan space with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, comfy sofas and a bar; to one side there’s a back kitchen with extra ovens and a commercial glasswasher, on the other, off the dining area there’s a loo and an access friendly bedroom with a wet room. Outside there’s a terrace for big happy alfresco dining.

The other two barns are just a few strides across the courtyard, one with Bedrooms 11-13, the other with Bedrooms 14-16. Both have open plan living spaces with a kitchen, dining and living area, and private gardens. The barns are uniquely designed with colourful and quirky interiors; original features like centuries old timbers have been maintained to add character. The feels are welcoming and relaxing so you’ll feel at home straightaway.

Follow the path round to the swimming pool, all yours for 7.5 hours every day, with views that stretch for miles across the Devon countryside. A few steps away there’s a shared play field and games room, and there are the vast private grounds to explore, rich in wildlife with fields, woodland, a pond and a stream.

Brix Barn is perfect for all kinds of large group stays because the way the accommodation is laid out means you don’t have to be together every minute of every day but there’s still heaps of space for you to gather to eat and have fun. Bring it on!
