10/10 - Huge spacious house which easily accommodated our three generational family. Probably the best-equipped house we have stayed in.
The pool was in constant use and enjoyed by everyone.
- Sharman - Sept 24

10/10 - Great holiday home for a family gathering. A lovely indoor pool and an excellent games/cinema room. Full of character and lots of space. - Evans - July 24

8/10 - The space was good and had enough entertainment for our mixed group. Plenty of hot water and extremely comfortable beds. - Futcher - May 24

10/10 - The house was perfect for our family group. We played games on the grounds or wandered around. The cinema room/swimming pool/table tennis and table football were particular hits. - Patten - April 24

10/10 - We have just returned from a fabulous week. The House was amazing so warm and comfortable, it had everything we needed to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday with family...our ages ranged from 4 to 70 and the house could not have been more perfect. Will the Owner was very friendly and helpful and the delicious cake on arrival was very welcome. It couldn't have been more perfect! Would definitely recommend and hope to return. - Batson - March 24

10/10 - Berry House was perfect, in a beautiful countryside setting. We stayed in January during storm Isha and the house was toasty warm and cosy. The beds were comfortable, showers hot and the house was spacious. The only downside was the lack of hooks to hang towels and dry robes in the swimming pool room. We had to put towels on the floor after we had piled them high on a chair. We had a fantastic stay and enjoyed the house, pool, Cinema room and the local area for country walks. 100% would recommend. - Howes - Jan 24

10/10 - We had Clay Pigeon Shooting at the house with Matthew of Birds Hill Days. Excellent tuition & attention to detail ensured all participants, mostly complete novices, achieved some success. Very much enjoyed by everyone. Also Ella Lawrence, from nearby Wiveliscombe, came and transformed the dining room into a delightful area for nails, facials & massage. A restful & relaxing experience which was much appreciated. The variety of activities at Berry House, both inside & out, ensured three generations of our family had a fabulous time for a 40th birthday celebration. So much space for us all with very tasteful & interesting decor. Such comfortable beds & luxury toiletries are very welcome. Surpassed our expectations & fully lived up to website information. I have a feeling we’ll be back, maybe for a longer time in Spring/Summer to explore the local area further. Thank you Berry House. - Waltho - Dec 23

9/10 - We loved the space and the facilities. Some rooms were a little run down but as to be expected with a property that size and age. We would recommend and would love to stay again! - Spencer

10/10 - We have just returned from our second stay at Berry House. Greeted by Will and a yummy lemon cake and flowers . The house was clean and warm and the beds were very comfortable.
We have just about mastered cooking on the Aga, the extra electric oven is very useful.  The house is very well equipped providing everything you need, [ perhaps a few more coat hangers or hooks would be welcome .] The new disco lighting in the barn was appreciated by the younger members of our group and certainly added to the atmosphere on our party night . The swimming pool was well used and a nice temperature . Berry House is located in beautiful surroundings and the walk along the river is a bonus [wellies essential ] and always a treat to see the deer roaming . We were a party of fourteen plus two dogs . Ages range from fifteen to seventy-six and we all highly recommend Berry House .

10/10 - Everything was perfect from the swimming pool to the cinema room. We really enjoyed the space to cook as well. Fabulous home. - Creasey

10/10 - We loved Berry House and enjoyed all the facilities it has to offer, particularly over a very wet and windy weekend. Our grandchildren all want to come back and our friends thought the house and the setting were wonderful, to quote ' You feel immediately at home here' 'This house wraps itself around you ' And finally, can't thank Will enough for rescuing our friends after an ignominious Satnav incident. Hopefully not to be repeated by any other guests ! A perfect choice for our Golden Wedding celebration - many, many thanks. - Browning

9/10 - We all had a great time. The pool was lovely and we all enjoyed at least one dip a day. The cinema room with table tennis was great. Overall GREAT! - Griffin

9/10 - We had three nights at Berry House and spent most of our time on site/in the pool. We did a short walk (2 miles approx) along the bridle way running past the house - a bit wet and muddy but beautiful scenery. Watching the deer from the house was a bonus! A lovely family house just right for our celebratory weekend. - Bumby

10/10 - We loved our stay at Berry House. It has plenty of space, a wonderful, welcoming feel, and lots to keep everyone happy. The pool and the new cinema room are great. Wish we could have stayed longer! - Everard

10/10 - We enjoyed the cinema room with popcorn machine and the games. The pool was wonderful. We all took turns to cook in the kitchen. We would have liked an electric whisk, but used man power, and the number of hobs was limiting, otherwise a well equipped kitchen. The sitting rooms were beautiful and beds so comfy. Fabulous view and barbeque. Wonderful stay thank you so much. - Yallop

10/10 - This house is grand but homely and is the perfect backdrop for a large family celebration. The bedroom for three is a little small but all the others are airy and make the most of the wonderful views. Bedding is first class and such a treat to have White Company toiletries. We made use of local caterers, The Kitchen Garden Somerset, who were absolutely first-class. So many positives: great swimming pool; fabulous cinema room; ping-pong, snooker, table football; two comfortable sitting rooms, homely kitchen with Aga. - Daintith

10/10 - The swimming pool was absolutely brilliant. The house so warm and comfortable….one of my grandchildren said ‘this is like a National Trust house’…and two drawing rooms… We quickly got used to the Aga. It was all excellent, we had such a good time. - Dawson

10/10 - The house is absolutely beautiful both on the inside and the outside. It's decorated incredibly tastefully and it feels as though you are in a proper mansion house when inside, particularly in the living rooms and hallway, given the high ceilings. The heated pool was amazing and the kids in our group spent pretty much their entire time in it - it made their holiday! The surrounding grounds and land were also fantastic for us with dogs, as we could take them out for walks every day off-lead, without meeting another person. It was idyllic to spend a week in the middle of nowhere with family. - Wileman

10/10 - I have been booking holiday houses for our family for the last 10 years or so and have to say this has been the best so far. Our party consisted of 3 generations of family ranging from 3 to 67 years and the swimming pool and pool table provided lots of entertainment. The house is well set out and spacious with a very relaxed ambience in beautiful surroundings. It is very well equipped and enjoyed the cake that was left for our arrival. We look forward to returning in the summer.  One of the party reported not being able to regulate the temperature of the shower in the bedroom above the kitchen but that was about all. - Dampier

10/10 - We required accommodation for 4 families with 3 dogs and an indoor swimming pool also facilities to entertain 6 Grandchildren. Berry House ticked all the boxes and was central to beaches both North and South. One of the best holidays we have had. Thank you. Would recommend  a day out to Watchet crabbing. - Nilsson

10/10 - We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in impressive Berry House and it’s grounds. We loved it so much that we didn’t want to leave. Everything was of a high standard, clean, tidy, comfortable. We loved the kitchen, cooking with the Aga and being able to use the swimming pool just for ourselves. Recommend a stay here. - Wienkamp

10/10 - The children enjoyed using the pool especially as the weather was mixed at times. The house was lovely and spacious with plenty of room for our large family. The kitchen was the focal point with great use made of the AGA. A great week in lovely surroundings enjoyed by all. - Ryan

10/10 - The property was perfect, everything you could wish for was provided, the swimming pool was far larger than expected, the grounds and views were beautiful, the owner, Will, was welcoming and helpful and Flora Bartlett (see Extras - Flora's Food & Kitchen) provided a delicious celebratory dinner. This was a perfect holiday for our four generational family which far exceeded my expectations and so welcome after a long lockdown and no family gatherings. You could not have improved the experience for us in any way. Perfection. Thank you. The weather was glorious so most days were spent on the beach.Saunton Sands and Combe Martin are perfect for small children and the young adults thoroughly enjoyed their kayak expedition from Combe Martin - Thomas

10/10 - Berry House was perfect for us and very well equipped with everything from towels to tea bags. It is a beautiful house and was clean & tidy when we arrived. - Shaw

10/10 - Berry house was absolutely beautiful with every facility you could possible need. The swimming pool was a big hit with all of us especially the Grandchildren who would have been happy to stay in it all day every day. The views were stunning and the peace only enhanced by the bleating of far away sheep. After the pandemic year this holiday was just what we all needed. Many special memories. We had a lovely day at Saunton Sands and another at Tarr Steps and spent a couple of lovely hours walking in the woods at Clatworthy Resevoir- Turnball

10/10 - Location great. Good local walks. The house was spacious, homely and comfortable. Full of character. Perfect proportions for our family of six adults and three children. We loved the swimming pool. Great to have a pool table and table football. Kitchen very well equipped and always warm and cosy with the Aga. Very few comments to improve - perhaps some crystal spirit tumblers, and a working fire in the snug and drawing room. We had a great holiday. Recommend Tarr Steps for a day out.- Bolton

10/10 - Family room was the smallest room, so felt quite cramped for 3. Silly little thing, missed a whisk. - Dorrans

10/10 - The indoor pool was a godsend with the poor weather for our holiday. Both adults and children enjoyed it immensely. - Tuvey

10/10 - A beautiful spacious house with a lovely pool, a very relaxing countryside setting with superb views. Stunning, nothing to improve. Owner very helpful and friendly. Wimbleball lake, good for walks and water sport. - Clarke

10/10 - My family members are all key workers and have been under a lot of strain recently. A quiet break together was what we needed. Berry house was fantastic for this. We swam, played board games, cooked and drank together, talked and laughed. - Berry

10/10 - Very lovely house and the owner was so welcoming. We couldn't fault the house. The pool went down a treat for all. So much space which was excellent. Loved using an AGA cooker, great cooking. We visited Tropiquaria Wildlife Park in Watchet. This was approx 20mins from Berry house. It was absolutely worth it, we attended a few sessions and the Zoo keepers were great in their presentations. Very knowledgeable and quite fun for the adults too. Kids loved it. - Dube

10/10 - The Games room and swimming pool very much enjoyed. A home that felt welcoming and cosy despite its size. - Gibb

9/10 - It's our second stay, first for our Golden Wedding, now for our Emerald. The 6 grandchildren have been asking for the last five years when we were going back, now five years older they once again all had a wonderful time. I cannot recommend it highly enough for big family get togethers, & Will is an understanding host, coping with along overdue arrivals due to traffic, & thus unloading a large grocery order for us. - Barratt

10/10 - I don’t think anything could be improved! As a growing extended family we try and go away every 12/18 months and I can definitely say this has been our favourite. The accommodation is first class and having the pool was amazing. We had enough of everything such as glasses/mugs etc and the house was clean and warm when we arrived. The Owner was helpful and welcoming. Thanks for the delicious cake! Sleeps 12 website is fantastic for organising things in advance. I especially liked the floor plans so we could organise that before we went. So much easier than 14 people wandering around with bags after a long journey!! Berry House is a stunning place in a lovely location. The surrounding countryside was safe for the kids to explore and they loved running down the driveway to the swing and slide. We would love to return. Thanks again! Tropiquaria - amazing tropical animal centre near Watchet. Don’t be deceived by the look of the place! Kids and adults had a great time. - Shambrook

I would highly recommend Sue Hartman as a beauty therapist, her treatments were spot on so much so, everyone wanted more on the day, she was able to fit in more than we booked, very much appreciated. Highly recommend Flora, she and her team provided a first class evening meal, with canapes on Saturday night, it certainly made a for a fun night. Super weekend and thank you Sleeps12, again the weekend did not disappoint. Our party very much enjoyed the clay pigeon shooting. - Pugh

10/10 - Delightful spot and delightful owner. We loved the house! - Bruges

9/10 - Loved the feel, spaciousness, setting and size of the property. The pool rooms lack any opening window and the users found them stuffy and although alright in the winter with the heating turned off would not want to be in them on a sunny day. Even if the doors just had trickle vents would help. That's the only reason they got a 9 instead of 10. A lovely property. - Mitchell

9/10 - Really great house and pool. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We visited Exeter, Tarr Steps, Lynton/Lynmouth, Dunkery Beacon, Minehead and went for walks around Berry House. - Shaw
