With snooze space for 17 in 8 bedrooms (6 in the main house, 2 in the adjoining annexe), Hennaways is a very special place to stay for large group summer holidays. Come with family, with friends, or come for a self-catering corporate break, let this gorgeous house and its glorious grounds work its magic on you.
You might be more than happy to while away every minute of your stay right here because there’s plenty to fill the days – a hot tub, an outdoor spa with a barrel sauna, dip tank and shower shack, a tennis court, woodlands, and a trail through the meadow leading to a viewing platform with a vista that rolls on forever across the spectacular South Hams landscape.
But there’s so much to see and do in this part of South Devon; stroll down the road (5 minutes) to The Church House Inn in the village, jump in the car and within 10 minutes you can be on the beach at Bantham, one of the best surfing beaches around. Hire surfboards, paddleboards and wet suits from Bantham Surfing Academy and hit the waves, wander up to The Sloop Inn for lunch. Kingsbridge is a five minute drive away, a traditional market town with independent shops and a choice of places to eat; sit and watch the world go by at the waterside Crabshell Inn, take a stroll through the bunting strung streets and down Squeezebelly Lane, one of the narrowest thoroughfares in the UK.
Make a short trip to Bigbury on Sea and ride the Sea Tractor over to Burgh Island, or spend the day at Slapton Sands. Head over to South Milton Sands to explore the rockpools, make sandcastles at Beesands, go to Salcombe for sailing and boat trips, take the ferry across to East Portlemouth to while away the day in a quiet cove. Take clifftop walks along the South West Coast Path, fill your lungs with bracing sea air.
There are brilliant family days out to be had within an easy drive, at Woodlands Family Theme Park, Buckfast Butterflies and Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary, and Paignton Zoo. Uncover years of history at Dartmouth Castle, walk in the hallowed footsteps of the monks at Buckfast Abbey, see the unique collections at Overbecks. If you have your walking boots, go and discover the craggy Tors and stone circles of Dartmoor, stop in a little tearoom for scones with jam and cream.
Wherever you go, whatever you do, even if you don’t go anywhere at all, you’ll have such a wonderful time at Hennaways. Watch the sunset, soak in the hot tub beneath the stars, toast marshmallows around the firepit; the perfect end to perfect days. Book your stay today!
