8/10 - The house was perfect, lots of essential provided that made the stay easy. The owners were very generous and on hand on help make the stay special for us- even taking a family picture! - Beldham - Sept 24
10/10 - We had an absolutely amazing time at Hurstone/Valleys Reach. We loved it so much and the weather was so good, that we didn't leave the house except to go for a couple of short walks down the lane. The views were beautiful. Our host Chrys kept in touch to remind us that she was available if we needed anything and we were given a thorough walk-through by Fiona at the beginning of our stay so we knew how things worked. Everything about our stay was wonderful and we hope to book again. Please do read the instructions on how to avoid the narrow lanes when arriving - we didn't and realised it could have been so much easier had we taken a moment to do so. Thank you for a fabulous holiday - we were all so sad to leave. - Streams - June 24
10/10 - On a cold and wet winter day, to find all three fires blazing away on our arrival was just marvellous. We immediately felt at home and hunkered down for a cosy and lazy weekend. Congratulations on your thoughtfulness. You've covered every angle, and I really can't add anything more you could have done. - Callaghan - Feb 24
10/10 - We loved the Pool Table. We loved the wood burners and the fact that they were lit and ready to go. We all also slept like babies in very comfortable beds and the hot tub was simply lovely. - Pawson
10/10 - Wow - Just a fabulous family week with all our grandchildren at a superb country house with complete attention to detail & a hot tub. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful surroundings weather was outstanding with BBQ’s excellent kitchen facilities for outside breakfast lunch & evening meals. A real plus were the wood burners when playing games after the sun went down. We are finding it very difficult to add improvements to this country house. - White
10/10 - Valleys Reach is a very comfortable, spacious and well-equipped house set in a stunning location with countryside views. We had a family celebration weekend and the venue suited everyone. From snooker tournaments, to star-gazing in the hot tub, to curling up in front of the log-burners, it all made for an enjoyable and cosy stay. Chrys the owner was friendly, relaxed and super helpful, nothing was too much trouble, from suggesting local walks to helping us with our fire-starting technique :) she made sure we had everything we needed for the perfect weekend. A big shout out also to Miranda and Carol at Kitchen Garden Somerset, one of Sleeps12 recommended private dining chefs, whose food and service were simply outstanding. - Wray
9/10 - The house and the views were great. The Billiard table was enjoyed and the Hot Tub even more so. We were made very welcome by Chrys and Simon. - Wisheart

10/10 - Such a beautiful setting and everything we could have asked for. Local walks very beautiful so we didn't stray far. - Elkabi
10/10 - The stay was perfect for our group. The house is very well equipped and ensuite in most rooms makes it easy to follow social distancing. We all loved the Hot Tub and the privacy. Waking up to picturesque views every morning was priceless. Could do with robes for the hot tub particularly on cold days, so remind people to bring their own. Dunster Castle (booking required) and Dunster Beach with a walk along the coast path was great for the family. There's lovely local walks around the grounds and nature reserve for explorers. - Hanson
10/10 - Valleys Reach is an amazing property and the owners went out of their way to make sure we felt 100% safe during the coronavirus pandemic and made every effort to ensure we were safe whilst still having an enjoyable holiday. We didn't really have any days out due to coronavirus and were happy staying in this beautiful house with surrounding walks in the countryside. - Howard
9/10 - Enjoyed the spacious accommodation and log burners. Pool table and hot tub were well used although problems with temperature in hot tub limited our use which was disappointing. - Cleverley
Response: "We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay at Valleys Reach. We look forward to seeing you all again in the future . Thank you for alerting us to the hot tub was not heating as efficiently as it should, we contacted the engineer immediately to find out what the underlying problem might be. He will come and work his magic soonest. Thank you again." - Owner.
10/10 - Despite being large, it is also very cosy and welcoming. Chrys was great. - Walden
9/10 - The house was excellent and very homely especially with the wood burners which gave it a cosy feel. Chrys the owner looked after us very well and the house is very well equipped. Our group of 12 were very impressed and want too go back next year. - Tovey
9/10 - We only went on some local walks and enjoyed staying at the house as everything was there. We especially enjoyed the games, pool table and hot tub. - Dinsdale
10/10 - We stayed at Valleys Reach during the heatwave, so it was more fun to play in the garden and eat at home rather then venture out. The house is just perfect for a family get together - three generations of people and dogs just relaxing in the Somerset countryside. Saunton Sands is an amazing beach - it's an hour away, but worth it. - Evans
9/10 - We enjoyed the spaciousness of the accommodation, the peaceful location and the wonderful countryside views. We can recommend Tiverton Basin horse drawn canal boat trip. West Somerset Railway steam train. We did the Dunster Express non-stop to Dunster Castle. - Appleby
9/10 - Spacious property with plenty of room to be all together but also the option to find some quiet space. Hot tub was brilliant. - Barrett
10/10 - The size of the house is great and the number of bathrooms is excellent. The kitchen and equipment were superb, it seems nothing has been forgotten and lots of cutlery and crockery. Also having Sky tv is good. Forgot to say to the owner but as she has got BT internet she can get BT Sport free as well. Also forgot to say that having a stack of reading books would be good. We read a couple we took but didn't leave them as there weren't any others. Dunster Castle and village. Pay for car park, free if you are a National Trust member and is a short walk into the village. - Thomas
10/10 - A lovely warm welcome from our host Chrys at Valleys Reach, and the outstanding property. Made for a very enjoyable break. Highly recommend. We walked from Watterow to Wilverscombe along the public footpaths, crossing breathtaking countryside. Also did a coastal walk Minehead to Watchet, would also highly recommend. - Hunt
10/10 - Valleys Reach is so well equipped that the usual nightmare of catering was an absolute doddle. The pool table and hot tub kept all ages amused. Chrys is just the loveliest host. We visited Dunster Castle and Minehead. - Gee
8/10 - Chrys was very helpful and provided lots of advice the things to do. The downstairs of the house was generally very well kept however some of the upstairs rooms could do with a bit of tlc. The bed in the room you get to right at the top of the stairs did not have a fixed based and so it collapsed when we got in it on the first night and then I was paranoid it would happen again during the night!! Hot tub was fab and the whole weekend was very enjoyable. We went Fossil Hunting at Blue Anchor beach. Good fun! - Moreton
Response: "Thank you for taking the time to send us feedback. We are delighted you all enjoyed your stay at Valleys Reach and saw some of the local sights, there are many to chose from; advising is an easy pleasure. But so sorry to hear about the mishap with the bed. We were on it straight away to make sure it was checked over (my turn to be paranoid). It had never happened before and we certainly wouldn’t want it to happen again. Thank you for alerting us to the problem." - Owner
10/10 - Could not of improved anything at all, all 13 of us had a great time so relaxing. Weather was amazing and house was big enough to escape when you needed some alone time. Amazing all round, the owners were more than lovely, amazing communication, everything was explained brilliantly no complaints at all. - Hayden-Squires
10/10 - The house was perfect to celebrate a 50th birthday. Self catering facilities were fabulous! Apart from walking to the pub 5 minutes walk down the road we didn't leave the property all weekend! - Porter
10/10 - The pool table was much appreciated, as was the piano for our "musical" family. It was great also to be able to have log fires (plentiful supply of material). We had a large supply of "Cook" Christmas food delivered exceeding the freezer space provided, but the owner Chris kindly offered space in her freezer to meet our needs. An excellent house for families! Our stay was for a three generation Christmas gathering, so apart from local walks we used the house facilities (piano, Sky TV, pool table, log fires, excellent kitchen and lounges, etc). - Rowland
10/10 - Loved the atmosphere - cosy with the fire at one end but yet ideal for a murder mystery with its long corridors etc! It was a lovely experience for everyone. Thank you! - Thomas
10/10 - Everything was great thank you. We perhaps would have picked a different caterer but overall was fantastic weekend. Thank you. - Heffron
10/10 - Wellington Park was a lovely walk and great place for the children to play ball games.
Minehead and Dunster Castle. - Burke
10/10 - 15 of us on our annual family holiday all agreed this was the best house we have had in 10 years. The house was so well equipped and to have so many en suites was luxury! A perfect place for children with plenty of space to run around and a snooker table! Hot tub also enjoyed by all. Thank you for a lovely stay. We visited The Bear Trail, Diggerland and the Steam Railway. - Banks
9/10 - The house and location were perfect for bringing together lots of people. The organisation by both yourselves and the house owner was faultless. I can't think of a single thing we would want changed. We walked around the local area, which is stunning. - Calderwood
10/10 - We walked to the local pub and also enjoyed the circular walk along the stream further down the valley. (Waterproof footwear needed). The view from the house was stunning. Opening the bedroom curtains every morning to the pleasant rolling hills and valley was enchanting. Staying for a family weekend celebration, there was no need to drive anywhere. The location of Valleys Reach was idyllic and scenery beautiful. - Richardson
10/10 - The house was lovely. Loved the large selection of games and the very well stocked kitchen. Nothing to improve. - Shelton
10/10 - Could do with more local visitors information leaflets to see what there is locally but otherwise it was lovely. The house itself was stunning, homely & comfortable, the owners were very friendly and helpful. We visited Lyme Regis beach and Taunton Town for shopping. - King
9/10 - Chrys and Simon were very friendly and helpful. The hot tub was a big hit, and we loved the wood burning stove. The kitchen was well equipped, a small freezer in the kitchen would have made it perfect. A bit of sunshine would have been lovely, but obviously outside of your control!! - Coombes
10/10 - Just a lovely big house, 14 adults and didn’t feel crowded at all. Suggars Family
10/10 - A lovely property and very comfortable. There are a few things that need updating but this didnt affect our stay. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of space for everyone. Good to see the Christmas decorations up too. Beautiful views! We enjoyed visits to Dunster and the Castle. - Greenwell Family
10/10 - There was a very relaxed feel to the house at Valleys Reach and we were well looked after by Chrys. I would just say that the underselling of the kitchen utensils and electrical applicances led us to bring more than was needed and it really was quite adequately equipped. Perhaps a new pair of kitchen scissors might be a good thing and a small frying pan. It would also help to have a remote control for the DVD player. Otherwise we all really enjoyed our visit and it suited our purposes perfectly. As it was winter we enjoyed the facilities , pool table, hot tub, wood burner, indoor games as weather was not conducive to venturing further than local walks. - Wingate Family
10/10 - Owners very helpful. Lovely location. Great space for mixed age families. Jacuzzi was enjoyed by all ages. Loved making the wood fire up. Under floor heating very useful in winter. Great to have so many family members around one table. A social space - we would like to visit again in the summer! - Slater Family
9/10 - The house was fabulous. Lots of room and nearly all the bedrooms were a good size. It was so lovely to have open fires and it was a wonderful touch to have two real Christmas trees! There was plenty of crockery, glasses etc for our large group and the large hot tub was really well maintained by Chrys. It would be great if checkout could be slightly later, say 11am but I appreciate the team need to get the house turned clean and turned around. - Harrison Family
10/10 - Chrys was so helpful before and during our stay. Valleys Reach is a beautiful county house and was perfect for our family's stay. The house had so much character and was so cosy plus we had an abundance of logs so we could enjoy a real fire. The snooker room and hot tub were fantastic and proved very popular with all the family. Dunkery Beacon has great views and worth the walk up to the top. Dunster is a beautiful town and the castle worth visiting. - Rees Family
9/10 - Service was excellent! - Ayton Group
